Navigating in a narrow channel with a strong current will necessitate crabbing or steering off course against the current to stay in deep water.
A Parallel Index line can help you determine if you are being set too close to the edge.
It is good to practice using radar tools in good visibility to gain confidence for times of low visibilty!
